INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL)

 Indian premier league (IPL) is a men's t20 cricket tournament organised by Board of control of cricket in India(BCCI) every year during the summers. It usually organise during March-April but due to Pandemic in 2020 and 2021 tournament was organised in October- November. It is one of the most popular sports league in the world.

After the success of India in 2007 T20 World Cup Indian cricket league(ICL) was formed which was funded by Zee Entertainment company but it doesn't get approval of BCCI and BCCI has announced lifetime ban on player on joining ICL.

In 2007 BCCI launches  Indian Premier League (IPl) to avoid player from joining ICl by increasing the prize money.

The first season of IPL was organised 2008 .The first match was on 18th April 2008 at M.Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore between Kolkata knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In this match batting first Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)scored a huge total of 222 runs with loss of 3 wickets. Brendon Mccullum scored 158 runs in just 73 balls with the strike rate of 216.4 In response Royal Challengers Bangalore all out at the score of 82 in 15.2 overs.KKR registered 140 run margin win in very first game of IPL.
